We rarely help each other since each one of us specializes on a different machine solution. The company is somehow sales driven so all the work done by the service and applications engineers is pretty much a value added to the company. Management is always focused on the numbers from sales. I also learned how to fully manage large scale projects from start to end. I constantly learn new software solutions to program the machines, how to deal with different types of customers. ![]() After the training is done, we have to follow up with the customer and make sure they are ok and up to speed to continue running the machine by themselves. ![]() Depending on the day, sometimes I would spend a week at a customer training them on a new machine. Also, we have a machines' show room that has to be always available and ready for customer visits. A typical day as an application engineer at DMG MORI starts by looking at current projects, follow up with vendors, follow up internally with sales and service department, contact customers and update status of project.
